Complaints Against an Officer

How to file a complaint about an officer

Public complaints about the on-duty conduct of a Codiac RCMP officer follow a federal statutory process — they are not handled by the CRPA. They go to the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP (CRCC), the independent body responsible for reviewing them.

File with the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP

The CRCC is the independent federal body that reviews public complaints about the on-duty conduct of RCMP members. It handles intake, coordinates the investigation with the RCMP, and reports back to the complainant.

  • Independent of the RCMP
  • Bilingual intake (English / French)
  • File online, by phone, by mail, or in person

The CRPA's role. The Codiac Regional Policing Authority provides civilian oversight of the policing-services contract and reports publicly on policing performance. It does not investigate individual officer-conduct complaints — those go to the CRCC, above. For general feedback or board-level concerns, use the feedback form above.
